Job Description
Seeking a Bellman with previous experience in a luxury hotel setting. Responsibilities include assisting guests with luggage, meeting and greeting guests upon arrival and departure, provide assistance to front desk staff and to concierge, as well as providing lobby doors coverage.
Greeting arriving guests and retrieving their luggage.
Escorting guests to their rooms, explaining the room facilities
Deliver luggage, messages, faxes, packages to guests and to undertake various other requests in order to ensure their comfort
Transport departing guests’ luggage from the room to the lobby, ensuring that the guest has verified that all luggage has been accounted for.
Assist with keeping lobby area clean and orderly
Ensure that luggage has been stored safely according to prescribed procedures
Be fully aware of what functions are going on in the hotel
Provide gracious, attentive, and friendly service
Other duties as required
Qualifications
Ability to work in a team-oriented, high-volume, fast-paced, guest-centric environment
Must be flexible to work all shifts including weekends and holidays.
Must have basic English skills
Must be able to move lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 80 pounds
Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity
Must be able to stand sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift
Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
Job Description
The function of a Bellman at the Hotel is to work closely with the Front Desk Staff,
Management and other hotel departments in providing guest assistance with luggage, transportation
and miscellaneous needs. Often the first and last person a guest sees while staying at the hotel is the
Bellman. The care and attention that goes with this position is crucial to the success of a hotel as they
convey a critical message to the guests about the property’s commitment to service.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Greet guests in a friendly manner and offer assistance with luggage
- Operate the courtesy shuttle
- Baggage handling for tours
- Set up and break down of meeting rooms
- Communicate with other departments in a friendly and professional manner
- Be aware of local attractions and restaurants and make recommendations to guests
- Accurately communicate with other shifts regarding issues arising from day to day operations
- Other duties as required
Qualifications:
- Previous hospitality experience preferred
- You must have a clean driver’s license with a least two years driving experience on a full license.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal essential
- Ability to work in a multi-tasking, fast paced environment
- Demonstrated strong customer service skills
- Ability to work all shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
